Care sector legal specialist RWK Goodman has supported a growing care home provider on its expansion in Berkshire with the acquisition of an assisted living home.

The firm’s Health and Social Care team advised DEA Properties and Uniq Healthcare on the acquisition of Haldane House, a specialist dementia care home in Sandhurst which provides space for up to 25 residents.

Established in 1977, the home joins the provider from Atkinsons Private Nursing Homes, and marks a key milestone in the ongoing expansion of the provider, which also has a home in Datchet, just south of Slough.

Partner Bharti Moore led the collaborative RWK Goodman team advising on the transaction, with support from solicitor William Bartoli-Edwards on corporate matters, partner Rob Walton on real estate needs, and senior associate Rebecca McCollum on employment requirements.

Bharti Moore shared her comments: “It’s been a pleasure being able to bring our expertise to the table and support DEA Properties on this transaction which will enhance the wider DEA Properties portfolio. Working with DEA’s team of Bhanu Bhatti and Dr Raj Krishnaiah made it clear that the acquisition of Haldane House was not just one to expand the portfolio, but enhance the high quality and vital level-of-care they provide to local residents. We look forward to continue supporting their growth and success as they move forward with this exciting new chapter.”

Bhanu Bhatti from DEA Properties said: “Bharti and her team were incredibly approachable and provided clear, step-by-step guidance throughout the process, ensuring our understanding and expanding our knowledge in this new field. Her ability to demystify complex legal aspects and communicate them in an accessible manner was invaluable, making us feel confident and well-informed at every stage”.
