RWK Goodman amplifies growing national private client practice with pair of partner appointments
RWK Goodman has signalled its ambition to continue the national development of its growing private client practice with the appointment of two partners in the South West and Thames Valley.
Edward Porter and Alex Stanier join the firm’s Bristol and Oxford offices respectively, with both bringing leading expertise and capacity advising on a range of private client, succession, and estate planning matters.
Edward, who joins the firm from Michelmores, advises clients on matters including Inheritance Tax planning, maximising business and agricultural property reliefs, trust and probate administration, and charity matters including creating registered charities and governance.
Alex, who was previously the private wealth and taxation department head at boutique practice Allan Janes, supports clients on the development of family investment companies and wealth management structures and is also a well-regarded expert in the dissolution of asset protection trusts and the transfer of business shares into trust.
Alex said: “RWK Goodman’s strong private client division growth and its ambition to further expand its practice on a national level while delivering a high-quality commercial and private client service is an exciting opportunity. I am looking forward to supporting clients, especially business owners, with advice that safeguards the succession of both their business interests and personal wealth.”
Edward said: “I’m excited to join RWK Goodman’s growing private client team and help feed into the firm’s ambition to deliver exceptional service for high-net-worth clients not just in the South West but across the country, and its commitment to championing their clients and collaborating across firm and practice areas was a natural fit to my skillset.”
Edward and Alex are the latest strategic expansion to the firm’s growing private client division as part of the firm’s wider strategy to develop its market-leading expertise and capabilities within the South West, Thames Valley and nationally as part of the firm’s overarching aim of achieving £100m turnover by 2030.
Graham Street, head of RWK Goodman’s private division, said: “It’s a pleasure to be able to welcome both Alex and Edward to the firm, as their appointments reaffirm our commitment to the expansion and enhancing of our private client offering on a national scale in a manner which provides clients with high-quality advice that both safeguards their private wealth and estates but is also commercially astute as required.
“Both Edward and Alex bring deep expertise not only across a range of succession and estate planning needs, but their wider capabilities supporting charities and the dissolution of asset protection trusts respectively greatly add to the well-rounded client support we already provide but also continue to refine our firm’s multidiscipline support for clients regionally and beyond.”
