RWK Goodman expands national private client expertise with Oxford partner appointment

RWK Goodman has further strengthened its national private client capabilities with the strategic appointment of Alex Stanier as a partner in the firm’s Oxford office.

Alex joins the firm after a decade at boutique practice Allan Janes – where he was previously the head of the firm’s private wealth and taxation department – and brings close to two decades of experience advising clients on a range of matters including succession and estate planning for business owners as well as the development of family investment companies and wealth management structures.

A well-regarded expert in the dissolution of asset protection trusts and a member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners, Alex supports clients utilising his extensive knowledge of commercial structures and their connection with private wealth management, including the transfer of business shares into trust.

Alex said: “RWK Goodman’s strong growth within its private client division and its ambition to further expand its practice on a national level through consistent collaboration across the firm was a unique opportunity which I’m excited to be taking on.

“Having worked with a wide range of business owners on succession and estate planning in the past, I know all too well the vital importance of delivering a high-quality service which answers both commercial and private client needs, and I’m also looking forward to working with the firm’s accomplished commercial division to effectively deliver a well-rounded service to business owners that safeguards both their business and their own portfolio.”

Alex is the latest strategic appointment in RWK Goodman’s growing national private client team, joining alongside the appointment of partner Edward Porter in Bristol in November.

Tom Gilman, head of RWK Goodman’s private client team, said: “Alex and his long-standing experience supporting business owners across their private client needs is a strong addition to our growing national private client team and I’m thrilled to welcome him to the firm.

“His ability to deliver high-quality support across succession and estate planning and a range of tax requirements as well as his capability to work alongside commercial counsel to provide well-rounded strategic advice aligns strongly with our ambition to develop our national private client practice in this manner, and his appointment marks another strong step forward in realising that goal.”
