Injury specialist RWK Goodman has signed up to a new scheme which aims to work collaboratively across the legal sector to support victims injured through negligence.

The scheme, devised by the not-for-profit Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL), brings law firms together to work strategically with APIL to address key challenges impacting injured people as well as support the organisation’s campaigning and research work.

The programme will aim to further enhance APIL’s capabilities for funding judicial reviews and its research function, as well as support its campaign to change public perceptions about personal injury and clinical negligence claims and ensure that all those who suffer an injury and their families are able to build brighter futures.

RWK Goodman’s Injury division specialises in restoring lives following complex personal injury and clinical negligence, supporting clients across a wide range of specialist claim areas such as brain and spinal injury, maternal and birth injury, animal injury, asbestos and mesothelioma claims, fatality and amputation claims, as well as providing long-term support for clients to help them navigate their future.

Tracy Norris-Evans, head of RWK Goodman’s Injury division, said: “This scheme will be a significant benefit for those who suffer an injury necessitating a need to engage with the legal process, and we’re excited to be throwing our support behind APIL on their mission to assist all those injured by the negligence of others.

“Our clients are always at the heart of our advice, and by collaborating with APIL and the other firms which are part of this initiative, we’re able to provide them with industry-leading advice and support which can only be a triumph for their overall outcomes.”

Mike Benner, chief executive of APIL, said: “I am delighted to welcome RWK Goodman as a founder member of our scheme. Injured people and their lawyers are subject to all kinds of misconceptions and reforms which are not in the best interest of victims and survivors. RWK Goodman will now play a major part in supporting us to help put that right.”

APIL is a not-for-profit group comprising of professional personal injury and clinical negligence lawyers across the UK, including solicitors, barristers, and legal executives.
