RWK Goodman has been named as one of 11 specialist firms across England and Wales who will be working with the UK’s leading spinal injury support organisation to provide advice and support to those who are affected by spinal cord injury.

The firm has been named one of two Spinal Injuries Association (SIA) Trusted Legal Partners for the South Central region on a four year term, providing access to clear, practical legal advice that supports independence and long-term wellbeing.

The South Central region, which covers counties including Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire, overlaps with RWK Goodman’s leading injury practice, with the firm able to support on a broad range of issues including injury claims, rehabilitation, housing, employment, and planning for the future, all with a focus on the unique impacts spinal cord injuries can have.

Ian Carrier, partner and head of RWK Goodman’s personal injury team in Oxford, said: “SIA does invaluable work supporting those with spinal cord injuries and we’re passionate about working with them as a Trusted Legal Partner.

“We’re dedicated to building a team around our clients and their families, not just for today, but for tomorrow and the long-term future, to ensure that they are empowered to achieve maximum independence and quality of life regardless of the severity of their injury.”

The appointment to the region is the latest appointment for the firm by SIA, with RWK Goodman previously a Trusted Legal Partner for South Wales and West of England during the previous three year term.

Nik Hartley, CEO of SIA, said: “As we launch a new four-year cycle of partnerships, we are excited to build on that strong foundation. Our newly selected partners were selected based on criteria built by a panel of experts and people with lived experience of SCI. The process demanded a deep look at the expertise and experience being offered for our members. All of those selected bring specialist knowledge and a shared belief in our vision of a fulfilled life for anyone affected by spinal cord injury.

“The partnerships will ensure people with SCI have access to the expertise and advocacy they need to represent their needs and break down the barriers they face. These legal partnerships are also part of a much larger and growing network of organisations who can together champion independence and improve life for every person affected by spinal cord injury. I look forward to the impact we will achieve together over the coming years.”
