About Ian

Ian is a partner who heads up the Oxford Personal Injury team and the firm’s team of spinal injury specialists. His main areas of expertise include catastrophic injury work, especially traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury claims resulting in paralysis or partial paralysis. He also specialises in fatality claims.

Chambers Legal Directory’s independent research asserts that Ian has “a genuine interest in you as a person“, while also stating that he “is admired for his considerable experience in catastrophic personal injury claims involving brain and spinal injuries”. He is recognised as a leader in his field. Ian is also identified by The Legal 500 UK as “a dedicated and experienced practitioner” who exhibits “impressive attention to detail and case preparation skills”.

Ian is a regular lecturer and contributor to professional associations, such as Thames Valley Police Family Liaison Officers and Citizens Advice Bureau.

Ian qualified as a Solicitor in 1996 and became a partner in Marshall & Galpin Oxford in 2004. He joined RWK Goodman as a Partner following the two firms’ merger in September 2008.
