Our Work Experience Programme is designed for students who are curious about the legal profession and want to gain genuine insight into what a career in law could look like.

Whether you are already studying Law or just exploring your options, this programme offers a supportive environment to learn, develop new skills and gain insight into life inside a law firm.

This opportunity will take place from 20–22 April 2026 and is open to students aged 16–18 who are currently studying at a sixth form or college in Bath or Bristol. We welcome applicants who bring enthusiasm, curiosity and a desire to learn. No prior legal experience is required.

What you’ll gain from the programme

During the programme, you will have the chance to:

  • Gain insight into life in a law firm
  • Hear directly from legal professionals about their areas of work
  • Build your employability, personal brand and develop key career skills
  • Enhance your personal and professional growth
  • Take part in legal research

We will cover reasonable travel and lunch expenses up to a specified amount.

Eligibility criteria

To apply, you must:

  • Be aged 16–18
  • Currently attend a sixth form or college in Bath or Bristol
  • Be able to demonstrate a genuine interest in pursuing a legal career

As part of our commitment to improving access to the legal sector, we encourage applications from students who meet at least one of the below criteria:

  • Have received Free School Meals
  • Speak English as a second language
  • Are from an ethnic minority background

What the application involves

Our online application form is designed to help us understand your interests, experiences and aspirations. You’ll be asked for:

  • Basic personal information
  • Eligibility criteria
  • Your motivations and interest in the firm
  • Any accessibility requirements
  • Contact details for your school careers lead or head of year

The applications process should take around 15–20 minutes to complete.

There are no right or wrong answers; we’re simply looking for students who are keen to learn and make the most of this opportunity.

Please note we will be required to contact your school to approve your participation in work experience, so please ensure they are aware of your application.
