At RWK Goodman, our team of expert medical negligence solicitors strive to be ahead of the curve. This means that they work hard to anticipate your needs following your medical injury, whatever your situation, and get you the compensation you need.
Sadly due to the nature of these claims it’s not always possible to restore life to how it was before the injury, but our team will use their experience to help you live life to the full.
Whatever the nature of your claim, if you have experienced medical negligence then we can help you. We have successfully claimed compensation from various London hospital trusts, including London North West Healthcare NHS Trust, Barking Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals Trust and Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust.
You will usually have a claim for medical negligence if treatment or care you have received has resulted in an injury, or that any condition you already had was made worse due to that treatment.
A claim will normally have to be brought within three years of the allegedly negligent treatment, or your knowledge that the treatment was negligent. There are some exceptions, such as for children who have until their 21st birthday to bring a claim, or adults with mental difficulties who have no time limit.
You can find out more about how we identify negligence and make a claim in our medical negligence guide.
Compensation amounts depend largely on your particular situation, so we will need to gather information from you before we can accurately estimate this.
There are a range of options for you to fund a claim, including the potential for no win, no fee funding (or a conditional fee agreement).
This depends on a number of factors, for example if the person or organisation you are claiming against denies there was a fault.
“I would recommend you to anyone who needs help and advice with medical law as I found you easy to talk to and you went through all the options I could take and nothing was too much trouble”.
Where in London is RWK Goodman based?
Our office at 69 Carter Lane is right in the heart of the City of London, nearby to St. Paul’s Cathedral. It is easily accessible via Blackfriars Tube Station or St Paul’s Tube station, and we always try to meet our clients either at our office or – if preferred – at their home.
Understanding your medical negligence claim
Our expert team will help you understand what constitutes medical negligence, and whether you can make a claim.
We can also explain what level of damages and how much compensation for medical negligence you can expect should your claim be successful.
Our team sees a claim both as an opportunity to secure the future for you (and/or your family) and to throw a spotlight on vital patient safety lessons for medical institutions, avoiding further instances of substandard care.
