Settlement for former ship fitter who developed mesothelioma
Mr S instructed Sarah Wolf, a specialist asbestos disease partner in our London office, having consulted the support group, HASAG, following his development of mesothelioma. He had been heavily exposed to asbestos as a fitter for the ship repairing firm Green & Silley Weir Ltd between 1966 and 1971, mainly while undertaking maintenance and repair work in engine and boiler rooms, without adequate protection.
Mr S’s case was settled for a significant sum, on the basis that he will be able to claim for the cost of any future private medical treatment.
