RWK Goodman advises Oxford Metrics plc on £52m sale of Yotta

Posted in Corporate

We have recently advised Oxford Metrics plc on the sale of Yotta to Causeway Technologies for £52m.

Oxford Metrics, a long-standing client of RWK Goodman, is an Oxford-based smart sensing software company with customers across the life sciences, entertainment and engineering sectors.

Yotta is its infrastructure asset management division providing software that helps businesses manage physical assets and related services, including highways, street lighting and waste management. The division increasingly operates in distinct markets to that of Oxford Metrics.

Causeway Technologies, headquartered in Gerrards Cross, is one of the UK’s leading software providers to the construction industry and has acquired Yotta as it continues its journey to digitise the processes that underpin the construction and maintenance of infrastructure assets.

The sale, completed Monday 30 May, delivers significant value for Oxford Metric’s shareholders and brings increased clarity and focus to the business.

Our team was led by Corporate Partner Paul Webb, supported by Partner Jessica Nugent, Associates Hector Freyne and Michelle Waligora, and trainee solicitor Forida Khatun. Osborne Clarke represented Causeway Technologies.

Commenting on the sale, Oxford Metrics Director Cathy Robertson said: “It was good to work with the corporate technology team at the newly merged RWK Goodman on this significant transaction for the Oxford Metrics group. We have worked with the team over many years, and they have a good understanding of our business and the way we like to work.”

Paul Webb said: “Having represented Oxford Metrics in relation to the establishment and development of Yotta, we were delighted to be involved at this key point in the business’s journey with the introduction of new ownership. We wish Yotta well in the future.”
