Personal Injury firms face rising claims?
Withy King’s Personal Injury team’s experience of taking on and settling previously under-valued claims for value bucks the trend reported in the Law Society Gazette last week.
A rising number of personal injury firms are facing professional negligence claims for under-value settlements due to a reliance on under-qualified staff, a lack of face-to-face contact with clients and failure to understand medical reports.
Withy King Associate, Mark Hambleton says “one recent personal injury claim was worth nine times the original £10,000 settlement agreed by another firm.” He added that “most claims had come from clients represented by panel firms of solicitors in a different part of the country.”
