Kim Lehal nominated for commitment to diversity and inclusion at Women & Diversity in Law Awards 2026

A partner in RWK Goodman’s London Family team has been nominated for an industry award which recognises those making the profession more inclusive and diverse.

Kim Lehal, who is head of the firm’s international children practice, has been shortlisted for Law Firm Leader of the Year – National/Regional Law Firm at the 2026 Women and Diversity in Law Awards following a strong expansion of the firm’s family practice in London with a focus on diversity, inclusion and integrity – building a growing caseload dealing with complex international child abduction, surrogacy, and children law cases.

The award recognises women in leadership positions within national or regional UK firms who achieve strategic goals while ensuring the business operates ethically and with purpose guided by a commitment to furthering diversity and inclusion.

Kim is highly regarded in international children law, holding the most reported cases in 2024 and 2025 and has made significant contributions through key speaking engagements and published articles. In 2025, she also became a member of the Editorial Board at Family Law Week.

She has championed growth and inclusivity within the industry through her work within the firm’s Thrive programme, which supports students from underrepresented backgrounds by matching them with senior legal professionals to instil guidance, exposure, and long-term career assistance.

Kim said: “It’s an incredible honour to be shortlisted amongst these admirable and talented voices in the industry in this year’s Women and Diversity in Law Awards. The championing and inclusion of voices from all backgrounds is vital to a stronger industry; having overcome significant cultural and personal challenges of my own to forge a path in the industry, I’ve seen first-hand ways we can all drive meaningful change in a positive manner.

“I am honoured to contribute to the diverse and inclusive culture and values of RWK Goodman. Being recognised with this nomination affirms my ongoing commitment and is truly encouraging. I’m looking forward to continue pushing the conversation forward alongside other leaders across the business and the industry as whole.”

The nomination is the latest recognition for Kim and her work alongside the wider Family team, following nominations for International Family Lawyer of the Year at the LexisNexis Family Law Awards in 2024 and 2025, winning Highly Commended Children team of the Year at the Family Law Awards 2025 and winning Civil Lawyer of the Year at the 30th Asian Legal Awards.

RWK Goodman will also be sponsoring this year’s awards, with the winners announced at a ceremony on April 28 at the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square.
