The world turns orange – CRPS awareness day
RWK Goodman and the CRPS claim team are proud to support CRPS awareness day and help raise awareness for this debilitating, chronic pain condition.
CRPS is a poorly understood, chronic, progressive disease caused by an injury to the sympathetic nerves. This nervous system regulates the body’s unconscious actions and in cases where CRPS develops, damage to this causes severe and continuous pain. CRPS often begins with an intense burning pain which leads to a dramatic change in the colour and temperature of the skin. If left untreated, CRPS can cause severe distress, crippling pain and long term disability.
RWK Goodman are committed to supporting CRPS-UK to raise awareness of this devastating condition. As one of the largest patient led charities in the country, CRPS-UK not only raises awareness, but also provides much needed physical and mental support to help people who suffer from CRPS live their lives as normally as possible. They do this by helping to unite patients who are suffering from this condition and help patients to live with the pain they find themselves in.
RWK Goodman will be supporting the “Colour the World Orange” CRPS awareness day with staff who will be wearing something orange to promote awareness and raise money for CRPS-UK.
CRPS-UK was formed in 2011 and all of the hard work paid off on the 16th February 2016 when CRPS-UK was awarded charity status.
In other events, on Thursday 10th and Friday 11th November 2016 CRPS-UK Clinical and Research Network are holding a national conference in Bath focussing on clinical and scientific advances in Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. RWK Goodman will be attending and supporting this event together with a mix of health care professionals and academics with an interest or expertise in CRPS.
