Our clients raise over £7k through our free Will-making services

Our free Will making campaign has raised over £7k for Prospect Hospice. We offered our professional services free of charge in exchange for a donation to the charity. Over 50 of our clients updated or made their Will in support of Prospect’s ‘Make a Will Month’. The money that would usually have gone on professional fees was donated to the Swindon-based hospice instead.

Mandy Casavant, a solicitor in our Private Client team and a Trustee of Prospect Hospice, said: “We were heartened by the support for the initiative and the generosity of everyone who took part. I think most people recognise how important it is to have a Will and keep it updated, so being able to help raise money for such a worthwhile cause motivated them to come and see us sooner rather than later. We are pleased to continue to support Prospect in this way, and I’m delighted that we’ve been able to beat our previous fund-raising records.”

Andrew Thompson, communications manager at Prospect Hospice, said: “We are hugely appreciative of the support Withy King and others have given to our ‘Make a Will Month’. The support of local businesses is crucial to our ability to deliver ongoing care and support to very ill people and their families and carers.”

For over thirty years, Prospect has provided the only dedicated end of life care service for the 300,000 people living in Swindon and north Wiltshire, as well as Fairford and Lechlade in Gloucestershire. They provide care, comfort and confidence around the clock every day of the year. They aim to bring more care for patients and practical and emotional support for their carers and family. Last year their dedicated end of life care reached more than 1,600 people living with cancer and other serious conditions in the area.
