Employment Rights Act: Preparing your care business for key changes in 2027 | Webinar

The RWK Goodman Health & Social Care team are delighted to invite you to their upcoming Employment Law Update.

The Employment Rights Act is the biggest overhaul of employment law in over 50 years. In 2026, several important reforms have been introduced with further significant changes expected in 2027. Now is the time to consider how these changes could impact your care business and what practical steps you should be taking to prepare.

The webinar will cover the key changes affecting care providers, including:

  • Unfair dismissal reform, including the reduced qualifying period and what this means for probationary periods, performance management, attendance/sickness absences, as well as disciplinary processes.
  • Fire and rehire restrictions and the practical implications for making contractual changes to your employment contracts
  • Changes to zero hours and casual contracts, including guaranteed hours, shift notice requirements and compensation for cancelled or changed shifts
  • Family-related rights, including bereavement leave, enhanced pregnancy and maternity-related dismissal protections and changes to flexible working
  • Updates on Fair Pay Agreements for adult social care and what they could mean for care providers, workforce planning and pay arrangements
