About Leanne:
Leanne is a Senior Associate in our Property Disputes team in our London office.
Leanne has extensive experience of helping clients to resolve a wide variety of property related disputes.
Leanne has specialised in property disputes since qualifying as a solicitor in 2014. She regularly advises clients on matters such as neighbourly disputes, adverse possession, breach of covenant claims, vacant possession strategy and the renewal of leases under the 1954 Act. Leanne acts for landlords, developers, commercial tenants , residential tenants and individuals.
Leanne’s particular areas of expertise include:
- opposed and unopposed lease renewals
- disputes regarding the payment of rent and service charges
- issues regarding break notices
- forfeiture and possession claims
- applications for consent to assign or underlet
- issues regarding disrepair, reinstatement and other breaches
- removal of trespassers
- property-related insolvency issues
- disputes between neighbouring landowners regarding rights of way, boundaries and restrictive covenants.
Work highlights include:
- Acting for a large and prominent publishing house in a circa £4m service charge dispute, which was settled without the need for a Court hearing;
- Acting for a landlord client in complex enfranchisement proceedings, where the parties were unable to agree a valuation for the building the leaseholders sought to acquire;
- Acting for the successful landlord through to trial in a claim for possession under Section 30 (1) (g) of the Landlord and Tenant Act 1954; and
- Helping a tenant client settle its substantial claim for damages against a large institutional landlord following the sudden forced closure of its entertainment venue.
