About Keara:

Keara is a Senior Associate in our Dispute Resolution team based in our Bristol Office.

After qualifying as a solicitor in 2017, Keara has developed wide-ranging expertise in the Healthcare sector including providing advice and advocacy in inquests, dealing with investigations by the GMC, GDC, HCPC, NHS Wales and NHS England – including appearing before the Interim Orders Tribunals and Interim Orders Committees –  and advising in disciplinary investigations under UPSW in Wales and MHPS in England. More recently, she has worked with health and social care providers to manage CQC and Ofsted inspections and compliance action and to resolve fees and funding issues.

In addition to her regulatory work, Keara has provided advice and training on a wide scope of matters including GDPR, record keeping and preparing for inquests.

Keara's experience includes:

  • Providing advice and making representations on potential findings of neglect and the issue of prevention of future death reports at inquest
  • Assisting clients with written statements requested by the Coroner and supporting them through the inquest process – including Article 2 inquests and PIR
  • Challenging CQC and Ofsted inspection reports
  • Defending against CQC compliance action
  • Advising care providers re: care fees and judicial review of local authority decisions
  • Providing advice and representing GPs and Dentists facing investigations from their regulators including allegations of misconduct and dishonesty
  • Assisting medical practitioners who have been referred to interim orders committees
  • Helping practitioners seeking restoration to the professional register following being struck off
  • Proving advice and representation to practitioners facing investigation from NHS Wales and NHS England
