Training Contracts at RWK Goodman
At RWK Goodman we want our Trainee Solicitors to have an impact. An impact on our dealings with our clients, an impact on their career and an impact on our business.
Our training contracts are designed to help you reach your potential. Over the two years you will spend 6 months in 4 different teams within the business ranging from Commercial to Family to Clinical Negligence. Regardless of which team you are in, you will be a key member of that team from day one and can expect to be involved in high quality work from the very beginning.
As well as experiencing different areas of law and working for high-profile clients, you can also expect top quality training and support from those around you at every step of your training contract through to when you qualify.
We will be running a number of Insight Sessions where you can find out more about the firm, our training programme and what we look for in our future trainees.
What we look for & what we offer
We are looking for ambitious individuals who are committed to providing outstanding client service and want to contribute to our success.
In return, we offer you first class training and excellent career prospects together with a competitive rewards and benefits package including 26.5 days holiday and a profit share bonus scheme to name a few. A career at RWK Goodman is about so much more though. You will also have opportunities to get involved in committees and activities led by our social, charities, ED&I and wellbeing groups all of which play a vital part in making RWK Goodman an exciting, diverse and inclusive place to work.

How to apply
Every year we offer two routes to securing a training contract.
The Vacation Scheme offers you a week of paid work experience in one of our offices. Working with one team for the week, you will get to see what it is really like to work as a trainee solicitor and understand our culture and our values. At the end of the week, you will then take part in an assessment day.
Training Contract Assessment Days are for those candidates who can’t attend our Vacation Scheme but who still want to apply for a Training Contract with us. Successful candidates will be invited to attend an Assessment Day in one of our offices in July.
Select your application path below.
“Although I had already been with the firm for a while before I started my Training Contract, I still felt anxious to start as if it were a new workplace. My new team quickly helped me feel at ease and supported, and, after just a few days, I felt like a valued member of their team. The range of work is really interesting and you are quickly brought in to assist with various tasks that increase your skillset. Everyone is caring and approachable and never too busy to help you if needed.”

Discover firsthand the culture of RWK Goodman and what it’s like to be a Trainee Solicitor. Join us for an invaluable insight into your future legal career, then at the end of the week you will be able to bring all those experiences along to the assessment day. Applications for the Vacation Scheme will close at 5pm on 31 March 2023.

If unable to attend the Vacation Scheme successful candidates will be invited to attend an Assessment Day in one of our offices in July. Applications for the Assessment Days will close at 5pm on 28 April 2023.
“The assessment centre included a number of different exercises. Everyone involved was friendly and supportive and I had the opportunity to ask questions about the firm, its culture and what would be expected of me as a Trainee Solicitor. It was a challenging yet enjoyable day.”
