School boy recovers £6.5 million after brain injury

Sam and his family were temporary residents in the UK while his father completed his Masters Degree course. The severity of Sam’s disability following his head injury meant that he would never be able to live independently as an adult, earn his own living or manage his own financial affairs. His family faced an uncertain future knowing that Sam would require 24 hour care for his lifetime.

“Excellent professional service with client-centred approach and a holistic view of my child’s present and future needs. I would recommend this service to anyone.” [Sam’s father]

Tracy Norris –Evans, RWK Goodman’s brain injury specialists stood by his family through each stage of the compensation claim process and won a £6.5 million compensation award. Sam’s award will provide for him for the remainder of his life. The fund is currently paying for his care, therapies, academic tuition and case management. A house is being purchased for Sam, which will be adapted for his special needs. RWK Goodman will be able to help his family find architects and builders who specialise in accommodation for disabled people. As Sam will not be able to manage his own financial affairs as an adult, we have helped his family through the Court of Protection process. We’ve even helped Sam’s father with immigration issues and we will continue to support and guide his family about Sam’s future needs.
