RWK Goodman’s next top model – the second fashion show to support Silverlining is a resounding success

RWK Goodman was delighted to host the second Fashion Show in aid of the Silverlining charity at Rhodes House in Oxford on Thursday evening.

The event saw over twenty disabled and able-bodied models transform into vibrant fashionistas as they hit the runway to raise money for the charity, which provides a support network for brain injured people and their families to re-connect with their communities.

All of our models wore an illustrious range of magnificent clothing kindly provided by Jigsaw, and Oxford’s bespoke men’s tailors Clements and Church. Hair was perfectly styled by Electric of London.

Alongside RWK Goodman’s clients and the Silverliners was Kit Butler, who first appeared as a model in the inaugural show in 2015. Since then, Kit’s modelling career has skyrocketed: he has gone on to appear in editorials for Vogue Italia, as well as walking for Balmain, Les Hommes and Versace. His major campaigns include Emporio Armani, Polo Ralph Lauren and Hugo Boss.

The night provided all those involved with the opportunity to challenge preconception and to show that there’s no such thing as the unachievable.

Rhodes House shares its name with one of the most prestigious international graduate scholarships anywhere in the world, and the models stepped out into the limelight and walked down the runway to an applause that exemplified the idea central to the famous building – progress. The fashion show has certainly proven that for our clients and the Silverliners the sky really is the limit.

The Silverlining’s Nicola Cale said:

“It’s wonderful to have been able to build upon the successes of the last event to inspire our models to change their own perceptions of themselves, and of others. The fashion show provides a marvellous therapeutic benefit for all of our models, many of whom were supported by their friends and families, which helped to create an inclusive and vibrant atmosphere on the night”. She added, “the event encourages people suffering from catastrophic brain injury to have the confidence to perform in front of a large audience, and it has even opened up professional avenues for our Silverliners – Ben Kuschel has recently been signed as a model!”

Tracy Norris-Evans, who is Head of Personal Injury at RWK Goodman, said:

“It was an inspiring evening. Some of the models have been with us as clients for over twenty years, and it was wonderful to see them out on the runway, especially as for many it takes real courage to perform in front of an audience that size. I was also particularly grateful to welcome back Kit: it’s uncanny to think that his first modelling gig was for the Silverlining and RWK Goodman in a Clements and Church suit!”
