RWK Goodman spreads festive cheer with Winter Appeal fundraising efforts

Colleagues at our firm reached their target this week in their 2020 Winter Appeal, which is in aid of our official charity partners.

The aim has been to raise funds to pay for the festive food, as well as 500 pairs of socks. The inspiration for the meals and socks has come from our current charity partners which support the homeless: Julian House in Bath, Crisis in London and Emmaus in Oxford.

The campaign was spearheaded by our Charities group as part of its wider ongoing CSR programme which is focused on giving back to the local community.

Staff have been asked to donate the average cost of a Christmas meal for the homeless, as well as donate a pair of new socks, or the cost. Colleagues have pledged contributions via a JustGiving page, while a special 12 Alternative Days of Christmas auction also ran in aid of the appeal, with gifts sponsored by senior managers.

Sophie Webb, our Charities Group Chair, said:

“This year has been a difficult one for many but as we edge nearer to Christmas Day, it is all the more important to think of those less fortunate than ourselves.

Helping the homeless is a cause which is particularly close to our hearts, which is why our staff and partners have wanted to support them in whatever way we can at their most challenging time of year.”

The proceeds will be split between our charity partners.
