RWK Goodman signals continued growth with new strategic hires

Vicky Hernandez has joined our Real Estate team and Carl Selby our Corporate team in Oxford today, while Bath based Lee Taylor will lead our Residential Development team from April. Rod Smith will become the new Head of Private Client at our London office in May.

Commenting on their appointments, our Managing Partner Graham Street said: “All four Partners are ambitious and talented. We’re delighted to welcome them to the firm and I’m sure they will be an asset to all our clients.

“We’ve established a national reach and reputation and enjoy working with national brands. Our latest appointments demonstrate that our firm is growing well and that we are investing in further building our strength, particularly in London. They will also enable us to deepen our capabilities in key practice areas, including Private Wealth, Real Estate and Corporate law, plus supporting our growing sector Retail team.”

Real Estate Partner Vicky Hernandez and Corporate Partner Carl Selby join us from Hedges Law in Oxford. Having joined Hedges respectively from BrookStreet Des Roches in 2014 and Reynolds Parry Jones in 2016 they created and grew the business services team to complement the pre-existing Hedges offering in personal law. They have brought a team of three with them.

Vicky has particular experience of working in retail real estate, having worked with clients such as McDonald’s, AllSaints and the Arcadia group. More recently she has broadened her client base and expertise into real estate development and agricultural work for large landowners. Carl specialises in corporate transactional work and has a particular interest in the tech sector.

Lee Taylor joins the firm from Lyons Davidson at the start of April where he was Head of Real Estate. Prior to that, he held roles at Bevan Brittan and DAC Beachcroft in Bristol. His experience will also strengthen the firm’s expertise in retirement village and healthcare development, which is a growth area for the business with clients including L&G backed Inspired Villages and Brunelcare.

Rod Smith has more than 20 years’ experience in advising on high value, complex and multi-jurisdictional matters. He currently leads the Trust and Estates team at the London office of law firm Stone King LLP and is completing his third term on the Law Society’s Wills and Equity Committee. He specialises in advising on the creation, running, restructuring and transfer of domestic and cross-border estates and trusts as well as on Court of Protection and regulatory matters.

He will play a key role in the growth of our successful Private Wealth proposition.
