Annual ‘Meet the Team’ events help banish the January blues

Hundreds of clients, contacts and colleagues turned up to ‘Meet the Team’ at a series of lively events which we hosted in Bath, Swindon and Oxford

A steady flow of champagne and canapes helped to banish the January blues, with guests gathering at Brasserie Blanc in Bath, The Old Bank restaurant in Swindon and the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford for RWK Goodman’s annual social events.

I was delighted to give a short welcoming address in each location and spoke briefly about Withy King’s merger with city of London practice Royds and what this means, in terms of enhanced client services and new opportunities, moving forward.

Guest speakers from local charities provided an overview of their work within their communities and outlined the practical ways in which businesses can collaborate to tackle community issues and make a real difference. They were Sue Turner, chief executive at Quartet Community Foundation which is very active in Bath; Mike Smith from West Swindon Family Centre which provides services and activities to children, parents and families; and Jayne Woodley, chief executive at the Oxfordshire Community Foundation which has established a Reciprocate group which matches businesses with like-minded beneficiaries for mutual benefit.

Our annual ‘Meet the Team’ events are the firm’s way of saying thank you to our clients for their ongoing support and catching up with our many contacts in the local community.
