London Legal Walk 2012

Private Client Partner Anthony Millson together with lawyers Alexandra Wilks and Sonia Mohammed joined the Rights of Women team in the 10km sponsored walk around some of London’s legal landmarks. The walk is said to be the largest annual gathering of lawyers and the judiciary in the world with The Lord Chief Justice, The Master of the Rolls, The President of The Law Society, Chairman of the Bar and Official Solicitor all taking part.

Walkers started at the Royal Courts of Justice walking past Temple onto Victoria Embankment passing the Houses of Parliament and Tate Britain along the way. The River was crossed at Vauxhall Bridge with a huge queue forming on the steps of the bridge! Once successfully over the bridge walkers enjoyed a pleasant less congested walk up along Albert Embankment passing the London Eye and enjoying the shows and performances taking place. A quick dash through the Jubilee Gardens and Southwark Street walkers headed back towards the Royal Courts of Justice and the Law Society for a much deserved drink and cheer from the stewards.

Overall the evening was a huge success with about 6,000 walkers taking part and over £500,000 raised in sponsorships for various legal charities. A huge congratulation should be offered to the organisers who ensured that it was an enjoyable evening for all taking part whilst London was still open for business!
