Bristol nursery sold to national group following advice from RWK Goodman
An independent nursery in Redland has been sold to a national nursery group following support from childcare sector specialist RWK Goodman.
The firm advised on the sale of Torwood House, an established day nursery that caters for up to 166 children, to Kids Planet Day Nurseries in a deal which will fold the nursery into the organisation’s wider 240 property portfolio.
The site provides early years education and care for children between zero and five years alongside after-school and holiday club care.
RWK Goodman’s Health & Social Care team led by Yasmine Grove (Corporate) advised on the sale for Torwood House’s owner, with additional support provided by Rob Walton and Megan Wilmot (Real Estate) and Charles Oliver (Corporate).
Yasmine said: “It’s been a pleasure working with Samantha to provide the legal expertise to ensure she could not only exit the business sustainably but ensure that a lasting legacy of high-quality care at Torwood House could be maintained with a respected new owner.
“We’re proud to have helped her navigate through the legal requirements and specific needs mandated by such a transaction, and we look forward to seeing the children at Torwood House continue to enjoy supportive and engaging care from Kids Planet Day Nurseries going forward.”
Samantha Packer, the former owner of Torwood House, said: “From the very outset, Yasmine Grove and Rob Walton provided outstanding support and reassurance, making a potentially daunting process manageable. I have had no prior experience selling a business and balancing my ongoing work responsibilities with the complexities of selling my business seemed overwhelming, but I always felt in safe hands.
“The level of support and personal commitment I received far exceeded my expectations. I am incredibly grateful to Yasmine and Rob for their diligence and dedication throughout; I couldn’t have asked for more.”
Christie & Co led the confidential sales process. Kids Planet Day Nurseries owns more than 240 settings across the UK, including six in the Bristol and Bath area.
