Bath lawyer completes marathon effort for charity

A Bath lawyer has finished a gruelling running challenge, completing 25 races in 14 months and raising £2,500 for Cancer Research UK.

Rob Beazley, who lives in Bath and works as a paralegal in the personal injury team at Bath law firm Withy King, completed 25 runs, half-marathons and marathons across the West of England in just over a year, culminating in the Brighton Marathon earlier this month.

Rob said: “Running took over my life for more than a year and the experience was difficult as well as rewarding. I think I’ve covered about 1,500 miles over the last 14 months, in training as well as the races themselves.

“The toughest part was running seven half-marathons over a nine week period. At one point, I didn’t think I was going to make it but fortunately I pulled through. Despite injuries and a couple of low points, overall I’ve really enjoyed the challenge and am extremely grateful to my family and friends for all their support and encouragement.”

Despite his achievement, Rob is not ready to hang up his running shoes just yet. He said: “I wasn’t a runner before, but running has become part of my life now and I’d like to try and keep it up, but at a more sensible pace. I plan to take part in a few marathons and half-marathons later in the year, but allowing myself a decent rest in between!”
