Prevention of sexual harassment training for your HR team and people managers.

The Equality Act 2010 has placed employers under a legal duty to take reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment of their employees in the workplace.

We give bespoke PoSH training.

Since 26 October 2024, the Equality Act 2010 has placed employers under a legal duty to take reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment of their employees in the workplace. The Employment Rights Act 2025 (which received Royal Assent on 18 December 2025) strengthens this duty significantly, and employers should be preparing now.

From October 2026, the standard employers must meet is being raised from “reasonable steps” to “all reasonable steps” — a materially higher bar. This means employers will need to show proactive risk management, systematic planning and documented preventative action, not just a policy on file.

Employers will become directly liable for harassment of their employees by third parties — customers, clients, contractors or members of the public — unless they can show they took all reasonable steps to prevent it.

This duty covers all protected characteristics, not just sexual harassment, and means employers need to think beyond their own workforce.

Since 6 April 2026, any disclosure relating to sexual harassment is automatically treated as a protected (qualifying) disclosure under whistleblowing law. This gives staff who report sexual harassment protection from detriment and from unfair dismissal, and is intended to encourage earlier, safer reporting.

Our training is engaging, interactive and designed to be remembered, and is kept up to date as the law evolves.

Manager Training

Our manager training is tailored so that managers know what to do if harassment is reported to them, encourages the reporting of harassment, and sets the tone for your organisation.

It also covers what ‘all reasonable steps’ looks like in practice — including risk assessments, reporting routes and handling third-party harassment — so managers understand the standard the organisation now needs to meet.

All training can be delivered face to face for organisations within a reasonable travelling distance from any of our offices (Swindon, Oxford, Bristol, Bath or London), or virtually (Microsoft Teams and Zoom).

Our bespoke manager training lasts 1.5–2 hours, with additional, optional repeat sessions. Talk to a member of the team to discuss our prevention of sexual harassment training for managers.

Staff Training

Our staff training brings the issue of sexual harassment to life and educates your workforce on basic level discrimination law, covering:

  • what harassment is and what sexual harassment is
  • examples of behaviours and relevant case law
  • the employer’s positive duty to prevent sexual harassment, including the upgraded ‘all reasonable steps’ standard and
  • third-party harassment liability under the Employment Rights Act 2025
how to raise a concern, and the new whistleblowing protection for sexual harassment disclosures from April 2026.

We liaise with your HR team in advance of the training to ensure that we cover the specific issues relevant to your workplace, including any third-party harassment risks arising from customer or client-facing roles. Our bespoke one hour training session comes with with the option of additional repeat sessions. There is a benefit in providing the training to smaller groups to encourage questions and participation.
