Jack Webb

Jack has extensive experience in handling complex international banking disputes and has assisted in cases for banks and financial institutions across multiple jurisdictions, including the United Kingdom, India, Hong Kong, and the broader Asia Pacific region.

Jack has been involved in shareholder and company disputes, often relating to allegations of fraud, as well as individual fraud disputes, particularly concerning authorised push payment (APP) scams, where clients are defrauded out of large sums of money by fraudsters often impersonating bank officials.

Banking Disputes

• Assisted in representing four banks across four jurisdictions in a dispute involving a $150 million facility agreement against a Cypriot subsidiary of an Indian-based multinational guarantor.
• Acted for a bank against entities in India, the UAE, and Hong Kong, as well as a personal guarantor, in relation to facilities for a global diamond trading business. This involved claims in the UK, Dubai, India, and Hong Kong, with service on the personal guarantor while in prison in the UK.
• Assisted in representing a UK-based Indian bank regarding a multimillion-pound facility agreement involving a UK-domiciled defaulting borrower and a French-domiciled corporate guarantor.

Civil Fraud

• Assisted in defending two former directors of a plc against allegations of fraudulent breach of fiduciary duties and knowing receipt brought by the shareholders.
• Jack regularly assists on matters on behalf of clients who have fallen victim to APP scams, making complaints against banks and, if necessary, the Financial Ombudsman, where he has successfully recovered the maximum award limit.
• Assisting with obtaining freezing injunctions and  a search order in a claim relating to a former director’s alleged breach of duty and unlawful retention of company documents.
