The Woods Group deal wins regional Dealmakers award

The sale of a family-owned Chippenham business to its management team, which David Cavaliero and James Worrall from Withy King’s Corporate & Commercial team handled, won the coveted Small Deal of the Year award at last week’s Insider South West Dealmakers Awards.

David Cavaliero and James Worrall, working closely with corporate finance experts from Baker Tilly, acted for the sellers of The Woods Group, the Shutter family, who have been a long-standing client of Withy King’s. The management buyout provided an exit for the Shutter family and secured the long term future of the business, which is now in the hands of its experienced management team.

David, who heads Withy King’s Corporate & Commercial team in Bath, comments: “It was a complex deal, but the outcome was very satisfying. Getting the right professional advice, structuring the deal carefully and doing the other preparatory work in place at an early stage made sure that all parties achieved the desired outcome.
