WITNESS APPEAL: Did you work on the construction of the Barbican Centre in 1979/80?

Did you work for Drake and Scull Engineering Limited or alongside Trevor Merrell?

Our specialist asbestos claims team has been instructed by Trevor Merrell who has developed mesothelioma, an asbestos related cancer.

Mr Merrell worked as an electrician’s mate for Drake and Scull during the construction of the Barbican Centre in 1979/80. He can recall using asbestos insulation board to box in electrical wires, cables and conduits.

Other trades and companies were working alongside Drake and Scull employees during this time, and information from anyone who spent time working at the Barbican Centre during this period would be greatly appreciated.

We are particularly interest in speaking to anyone has any knowledge of the use of asbestos during in the construction of the Barbican Centre (including those who worked for John Laing), who worked for Drake & Scull on the site or who can remember Trevor Merrell.
