WITNESS APPEAL: DID YOU WORK FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF BIRMINGHAM BETWEEN 1966/67 AND 1985/86?

Posted in Mesothelioma

DID YOU KNOW ROBERT ANTHONY HOWLETT (‘TONY’)?

Our specialist asbestos claims team has been instructed by Robert Howlett who has sadly developed asbestosis.

We are investigating how Mr Howlett may have come into contact with asbestos and are interested in speaking with anyone who worked for the University of Birmingham between 1966/67 and 1985/86, during which time Mr Howlett also worked there.

Mr Howlett was employed as a trainee fitter/welder and subsequently a qualified fitter/welder, before progressing into the role of advanced fitter. In 1967 he remembers working in the Aston Webb subway removing asbestos insulation from mains which ran the length of the subway. Throughout his employment Mr Howett also worked on rolling maintenance in the subway areas, on pipework which was lagged with asbestos.

Mr Howlett is therefore appealing to anyone who worked for the University of Birmingham during this time to come forward to tell us what they remember about the work Mr Howlett did and/or the work carried out in the subways more generally.
