WITNESS APPEAL: Did you work for the Great Western Railway/British Rail in Swindon between 1957 and 1973?

Our specialist asbestos claims team has been instructed by the family of the late Anthony Deacon who has sadly developed and passed away from mesothelioma, an asbestos related cancer.

Anthony worked at the Great Western Railway/British Rail as a cleaner and a fireman in the late 1950s, 60s and early 70s. He initially worked in Shipton, then spent the majority of his time in Swindon but also spent some time at the old Oak Railway in London.

Whilst we have represented many people who have developed mesothelioma and asbestos diseases from similar exposure, and whilst employed at Swindon Railway Works, specific evidence is needed in each case.

Mr Deacon’s family are therefore appealing to anyone who may have worked with Anthony, or who worked for Great Western Railway/British Rail in Swindon as a cleaner or fireman during this time and has knowledge of the use of asbestos and the disturbance of asbestos, to come forward to tell us what they remember.

If you have any information that may assist please get in touch.
