Withy King to speak at Scope Family Information Day
The disability charity Scope is holding a family information day for Peterborough parents and carers of disabled children.
The event has been organised in response to Scope frequently receiving questions from parents who wish to safeguard their children’s future by putting the appropriate legal arrangements in place.
Scope Regional Response Worker Linzi Ellison, who will be welcoming people to the event, said: “Parents often ask us for advice and help when faced with important decisions which will affect their children’s health, welfare and wellbeing in the future. We are delighted to have Withy King’s legal experts on board to explain the fine details of Wills, Trusts, deputyships and the Mental Capacity Act. I am confident that this event will be a valuable source of information as well as a great networking opportunity for parents.”
Withy King solicitor Paul Rumley, who has championed the firm’s relationship with Scope, said: “We deal with parents and carers of disabled children on a daily basis, and I know that one of the most vital things parents can do is keep themselves informed. Knowledge allows you to be in control and make good decisions for the future of your child as well as the rest of the family.”
Experts from Withy King’s Private Client team – including an expert Chartered Accountant – will be speaking at the event. Parents and carers will also have the opportunity to ask questions, browse the information stands and talk over tea and cakes donated by a local bakery.
Sponsored by law firm Withy King, the Scope Family Information Day is being held at Serpentine Green Shopping Centre, Hargate Way, Peterborough on Tuesday 17 March, from 10am to 12.30pm. Tea and cakes will be provided.
