A note from our Editor
2022 brings exciting changes for our firm with the announcement of our forthcoming merger with London firm Goodman Derrick, creating from 1 May RWK Goodman LLP. London has been a large growth area for us, particularly since our merger with City firm Royds LLP in September 2016.
Baron Goodman, now deceased, was a founding partner of Goodman Derrick. He had a most amazing career which included, in 1977, the founding of the Motability Scheme for disabled motorists. Baron Goodman was a humanitarian, supporting many medical causes, and his obituary in The Independent noted: “..he was ever champion of the weak and if he smelt arrogance or injustice his indignation was splendid to behold.”
With this sentiment in mind, our new edition of our Team Around the Client Magazine is focused on London, our disabled clients who live there, the caring medical and case management professionals who work there, and the charities who serve there. A capital city brings both amazing opportunities and specialised knowledge for those with disabilities, but alongside that significant additional challenges, particularly around accommodation and transport.
I’m very grateful to our contacts and colleagues for sharing their London-focused expertise in this TAC edition and hope that it can be used as a resource for both clients and professionals going forward.
In the words of the great Paddington Bear: “In London, everyone is different, and that means anyone can fit in.”
