Law firm RWK Goodman has expanded its leading dispute resolution practice with the appointment of James Roberts as a partner in the firm’s London office.

James joins from London firm Francis Wilks & Jones, where he was previously a partner. He was also at firms including BDB Pitmans and Charles Russell Speechlys supporting on restructuring and insolvency matters.

Assisting clients for more than 15 years, James has supported companies, individuals, and insolvency practitioners across both non-contentious insolvency and litigation, with a particular focus on restructurings, administrations, CVAs, liquidations, and personal insolvency solutions.

James said: “I’m thrilled to be joining RWK Goodman and a strong dispute resolution team that is committed to supporting our clients no matter their business needs and objectives. I look forward to bringing my expertise across non-contentious and contentious insolvency and litigation needs to the firm and complement their already strong offering to clients.”

The appointment is the latest in the firm’s growing dispute resolution team following the appointment of partner Simon Price in Bristol in April 2025. The team assists clients across a range of needs including commercial and property disputes, data protection requirements, and insolvency & restructuring needs.

Dan Dodman, head of RWK Goodman’s dispute resolution practice, said: “The appointment of James is a very welcome one to our team and continues to affirm our growing capabilities for clients with his standout experience across insolvency and restructuring matters.

“He joins a team which is going from strength to strength and aligns well with our overall strategic aims and values for the practice, and we look forward to the additional positive growth he can bring to the team.”
