RWK Goodman sparkle in laundry business acquisition

Posted in Corporate

Yorkshire-based Wolf Laundry is the UK’s leading supplier of commercial laundry equipment and is a partly owned subsidiary of the Swiss-based company Schulthess Maschinen AG. Established in 1845, Schulthess occupies a market-leading position in laundry care, with a rich tradition of developing and producing high-quality machines and systems for private, commercial and industrial customers across the globe.

Cornwall-based Brewer & Bunney is the largest supplier and distributor of commercial and industrial laundry and dishwashing equipment in the Southwest, with the acquisition part of Wolf Laundry’s strategic growth plan which is focused on strengthening the manufacturing and supply aspects of its UK business.

Our team was led by John North, Partner and Head of the Corporate team, supported by Bharti Moore (Senior Associate), Irene Trubbiani Montagnac (Solicitor), and Shaun Young (Solicitor) from the London Corporate practice, with assistance from the London Real Estate team and London Employment team.

Accountants Mazars advised Wolf Laundry on the finance and tax aspects of the acquisition.

Joshua Brown, Wolf Laundry’s co-founder and joint managing director, said: “This deal consolidates Wolf’s position as one of the UK’s leading laundry equipment businesses.

“We’ve achieved outstanding organic growth ever since we were founded in 2007 by consistently providing our customers with the fastest, most reliable service. This acquisition will reinforce our presence across England’s South West and allow us to win an even greater share of the market.

“Brewer & Bunney has an outstanding team in place – all of whom have job security following this acquisition. The company ethos is aligned with our own which means that Wolf Laundry is now perfectly positioned to enter our next major growth phase.”

John North said: “This was a complex deal with a tight completion deadline of just two months. It demonstrates the firm’s expertise in M&A and our wider work in the manufacturing and distribution sectors, highlighting the support we can offer to businesses when dealing with mergers and acquisitions in often niche areas and tight timeframes.”
