RWK Goodman helps to cultivate agricultural machinery supplier’s expansion

Lawyers from RWK Goodman in Bath and Swindon have advised one of the UK’s leading suppliers of agricultural machinery on the acquisition of a dealership specialising in tractors and other farming equipment.

T H WHITE, which is based in Devizes and has a network of branches across the South and South West with an annual turnover in excess of £120m, has acquired a New Holland dealership in Hereford for an undisclosed sum, which was operated by J.G. Plant Limited up until it went into administration on 12 December.

Edward Chapman, an associate in RWK Goodman’s Corporate team, said: “This was a particularly rewarding deal to have been involved with, working round the clock to get the deal over the line to ensure the continuity of a well-established agricultural dealership and securing all 16 jobs at the Hereford site. We were delighted to work closely with the board of directors at T H WHITE and wish them every success with their ongoing expansion.”

Alex Scott, managing director at T H WHITE, said: “Adding the Hereford area to our agricultural machinery trading territory brings great opportunities. We are delighted to welcome the Hereford team to our company and will be working hard to maintain and grow the relationships with farmers and businesses throughout the region.”

T H WHITE was advised by Corporate, Real Estate and Employment lawyers from RWK Goodman’s Bath and Swindon offices.

J.G. Plant’s administrators were from Deloitte’s Cardiff office and legal advice was provided by Blake Morgan LLP.
