RWK Goodman appointed by The National Association of Jewellers to draft documentation to enable jewellers to use new Made In Britain mark

Press release

Intellectual property and commercial lawyers from RWK Goodman will be working closely with the NAJ as they look to launch the new Made in Britain mark to the jewellery trade. No date has been announced for the official launch of the project but it will be later this year.

Stephen Welfare, a partner and IP specialist at RWK Goodman in London, who has worked with the NAJ for over 20 years, said: “This is an exciting time to be working with the NAJ as they prepare to launch and administer a universal mark in partnership with Made in Britain, targeted at  the jewellery industry. The mark will act as a distinctive badge of origin, enabling consumers to easily identify products that have been manufactured in the UK and hopefully giving jewellers a competitive advantage. We will be drafting all the legal documentation needed to support the new scheme, including the necessary licensing agreements.”

RWK Goodman’s Retail team will be attending the annual Spring Fair at the NEC, Birmingham, from 4th to 6th February. Stephen Welfare will be available on the NAJ stand  N40 in Hall 18 to offer advice on IP, copyright, trade marks and other issues to jewellery designers, manufacturers and retailers.
