New owner for alcohol breathalyser immobilisation system distributor
Established in 2006 by David Whittock, Alcolock was devised with the aim of reducing alcohol-related road accidents in the UK.
The acquisition means private equity-backed Isotrak Group, a Northampton-based provider of fleet management and telematics services, can diversify its portfolio and expand into the bus and coach industry.
James Worrall, senior associate in our Corporate team who led the firm's multi-disciplinary transaction team, said, "We were delighted to advise and support the shareholders on the sale of Alcolock GB to Isotrak. It is pleasing to see them secure the right buyer for their successful and ambitious business."
David Whittock commented: "I believe the products and services Alcolock GB has developed are becoming more and more essential in the automotive sector, particularly within public transport due to legislation and a better awareness amongst directors of their duty of care in relation to their drivers."
Watersheds, corporate finance specialists in Swindon, led the successful sale and identified Isotrak as a strategic buyer which shared Whittock's "concerns about road safety, and understood the importance of these products and services".
