New corporate lawyer marks further expansion at RWK Goodman

Bath’s largest team of corporate and commercial lawyers has signalled further expansion with the appointment of solicitor Edward Chapman.

Ed Chapman has joined the Corporate & Commercial team at RWK Goodman from TLT in Bristol, where he worked on a range of transactions including mergers and acquisitions, disposals, fund-raising and management buy-outs, acting for individuals and companies with local, national and international requirements. He also has experience of corporate restructuring, including in distressed situations, delivering solutions to meet commercial needs and deadlines.

Ed’s appointment further strengthens our Corporate & Commercial team, which continues to expand following the merger with City of London firm Royds, providing greater breadth and depth of services to clients based in Bath and across the West. In addition to looking after local and national interests, we are increasingly supporting our clients internationally through our membership of Interleges, a proactive global network of independent lawyers.

Commenting on his appointment, Ed said: “This is an exciting time to be joining RWK Goodman, particularly as the firm’s ambitions seem to reflect my own. I was looking to join a progressive, growing team with the sector expertise to undertake interesting corporate and commercial work, and RWK Goodman fits the bill on every level. During my time at TLT I developed a strong network of contacts in Bristol and I am looking forward to building on these relationships in Bath and the wider area.”

Ed continued: “I was also drawn to RWK Goodman’s ethos, putting clients’ interests first and tailoring their approach to suit. Our clients range from ambitious start-ups, owner-managed businesses and SMEs, through to large companies operating internationally and I am impressed by the firm’s ability to offer a personal and hands-on service regardless of size or scale.”

The appointment of Ed Chapman follows that of Natalie Pring who has qualified into the team after completing her training contract with the firm.

Our corporate and commercial lawyers also have specialist knowledge of a variety of sectors, including banking and financial services, technology media and telecoms, property and construction.

The team’s most recent work has included advising Fidelius Financial Holdings on its merger with rival MoneyWise and the shareholders of international unified communications provider Applicable Limited on its sale to Arkadin SAS, an NTT Communications company.
