Seeing the pictures of different Debenhams stores around the country closing their doors for the very last time has saddened me this week.

Recently published research suggests that hospitality salaries have increased by 18% compared to last year, with retail salaries also showing a noteworthy 10% rise.

According to a recent survey by the British Retail Consortium (BRC), there has been a 7% rise in incidents of violence and abuse against shop workers compared to the previous year.
