We are supporting Milestones Trust, based in Bristol, as a charity partner. The not-for-profit organisation has a 33-year-history of offering safe, person-centred support to vulnerable people with learning disabilities, mental health needs and dementia.

The partnership was kick-started with a donation of £1,000 which has paid for a much-needed bench at the premises of Warmley Wheelers. The accessible cycling scheme provides specially adapted bicycles to ride around a safe area in Warmley Forest Park near Bristol.

The bench was officially handed over on Friday, much to the delight of the charity.

Milestones Trust CEO John Hoskinson said: “The generous donation from RWK Goodman has allowed us to provide some much needed additional seating at our accessible cycling scheme Warmley Wheelers. The beautiful bench has been designed with the access needs of the people we support and those who use the service in mind, so that everyone can enjoy it.

“We are so grateful that RWK Goodman have chosen Milestones Trust as their charity partner in Bristol and look forward to working with them on future projects together.”

The law firm has a hub in central Bristol for meeting with its growing portfolio of clients in the city.

Corporate Partner James Worrall said: “We’re always looking to find new ways we can contribute even more to our local communities, so we’re very proud to announce our commitment to Milestones Trust. They are a very innovative organisation and we definitely have things in common in terms of some of the people they support.”

Milestones Trust was formed in 1986 following the closure of long stay hospitals to move people into local communities, and now runs services throughout Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset.

The Trust supports more than 550 people in residential, nursing and supported living services and through community projects, respite services, day care and day opportunities groups.

Warmley Wheelers is located next to Warmley Waiting Room Café and Tea Gardens, on the Bristol to Bath cycle path. For more information about the scheme, call Andy Underdown on 07587 034 366 during opening hours or email [email protected]. The cost is £5 per hour per person.
