Campaigning for Change – George’s Law & The Employment Rights Bill | Thursday 16 October

Miscarriage affects 1 in 5 pregnancies, with 250,000 expectant mothers in the UK suffering a miscarriage every year. At present, the current UK law grants no bereavement leave before 24 weeks, treating baby loss as “sick leave”.
With just over 1/3 UK businesses having supportive polices for those impacted by miscarriage, there is a clear need for workplace change to better support those impacted by miscarriage.
In association with Georges Law, Pump Court Chambers, and RWK Goodman, join George’s Law founder and RWK Goodman, Partner and Head of Public Law Children – London, Keeley Legthorn, and Pump Court Chambers, Barrister, Naome Gyane, to discuss how George’s Law is campaigning for change.
This webinar includes:
- Introduction to George’s Law and Keeley’s personal experience of miscarriage
- The Employment Rights Bill and legislative challenges
- What business owners and employees can do to help colleagues impacted by miscarriage
- Wider support available Wanting to encourage further conversations, the session will end with an opportunity to ask questions. All questions have the option to be submitted anonymously.
